Krupárna – our field study centre
After searching several years, A Rocha Czech has found an ideal site for a
centre in a river valley near Dobruška, in Northeastern Bohemia. It was
originally a grain mill, then a textile mill, located in one-half of an old,
spacious building located on 2.5 hectares of land – meadows and forests – within
thirty kilometres of the ecologically important Eagle Mountains, Grandmother’s
Valley and the Rozkoš reservoir. More...

Research and conservation
Protecting threatened birds – In East and South Bohemia A Rocha
Czech is studying, monitoring and working to protect three species which have
seriously declined in recent years: Common Kingfisher, White-throated Dipper,
and Little Owl.
Protecting threatened habitats – Orlické Záhoří is a 904 hectare
marshland and grassland site in Eastern Bohemia. The area holds important
populations of Corncrake and Red-backed Shrike, both of which are priority
species under the EU Birds Directive. More...

Environmental education
Helping people of all ages to enjoy, understand and care for creation is an
important part of A Rocha Czech’s programme. Primarily focused on East and South
Bohemia, our educational programmes include talks and lectures in schools,
community centres and churches throughout the country.
