With the Copenhagen summit just around the corner, it's not too late to get ready for The Wave – the massive march to urge our politicians to make bold commitments and take bold actions to avert the worst of the climate crisis. According to Kofi Annan, former UN Secretary General 'The negotiators at Copenhagen must come to the most ambitious international agreement ever negotiated, or continue to accept mass starvation, mass sickness and mass migration on an ever growing scale.' And, we might add, the continued desecration of God's earth and creatures. The Wave marches are organised by the Stop Climate Chaos coalition of which A Rocha UK and over 100 other organisations are members. There are two marches, one in London and one in Glasgow, both on 5 December. They are for you, your friends, families and churches. Please wear blue or bring blue banners to join the blue wave. A Rocha Friends are also invited to join us at church services in London and Glasgow. The Wave full programmeLondon
There will be an A Rocha stand in the Westminster Central Hall foyer, where people can meet others from A Rocha and collect placards (until they run out). From Westminster Central Hall to Grosvenor Square is nearly 2 miles, you can walk or travel by tube using the Jubilee Line from Westminster to Bond Street. The full march is approx 3 miles. See below for marching options including shorter alternatives. Glasgow

Option 1: Maximum Marching - Walk to Brook Street, just off Grosvenor Square , to march together with other Christian groups. This walk takes up to 50 minutes. You can also reach Brook Street and be ready to join the start of the march by taking the Jubilee Line from Westminster to Bond Street after the services ends. This will take 4 minutes on the Jubilee Line and about 20 minutes in total.
Option 2: Halfway House - Walk to Cockspur Street and join the march as it goes through Trafalgar Square . It takes about 30 minutes to reach Cockspur Street from Methodist Central Hall and the march would be coming past at about 2.15pm. You are welcome to stay in Methodist Central Hall until 1.30pm to browse stalls or grab a bite in the basement cafe. Please walk in small informal groups to Cockspur Street where you will be greeted by a Stop Climate Change steward who will ‘filter’ you in as the march passes.
Option 3: Keeping Warm and Dry - Stay at Methodist Central Hall until 2.30pm, browsing stalls or heading to the basement café, when a Stop Climate Change steward will lead you out to join the encirclement of parliament for the 3pm 'moment'.
Please note that you are responsible for making your own way from Westminster Central Hall to the march. Do take care when crossing the busy roads, and show consideration for other pedestrians and road users. Thank you.
