November regional conferences in London and Hatfield

29 October 2009

Regional conferences give exciting opportunities to meet A Rocha Friends and be inspired as you hear more about activities locally and nationally.

There are two conferences in November:

  • Greater London (Hayes), 7 November. This conference will start with an optional visit to Minet Country Park.

  • East of England (Hatfield), 21 November.

If you've not yet visited Minet Country Park (pictured) and live within access of London, then the regional conference on 7th November gives you the opportunity as it starts with an optional tour around the park. That's followed by talks by A Rocha directors Steve Hughes on the national A Rocha picture, Dave Bookless who will guide our theological thinking and Helen Demopoulos will talk about developments and pressures at Minet. Will Campbell-Clause will also lead us in thinking about practical local action.

Later in the month (21st) there is another chance to meet, this time at Hatfield in the East of England Region. Steve Hughes will again be with us and also Andy Lester who will outline the development of A Rocha projects. We are also thrilled that Will and Rachel Simonson will join us to speak of recent events in A Rocha Portugal. Our six afternoon speakers will come from the region to inspire us to practical action and include representatives from the first Eco-cathedral, a church that has installed a ground source heat pump, a churchyard project, citizen science and measuring your carbon footprint.

Each conference costs £5 and please bring a packed lunch.

There is still time to book to join us. If you wish to come to the London conference we will ask you to pay on the day but please email to confirm your booking to elaine.brown@arocha.org as soon as possible. If you would like to join the Hatfield conference and do not have a booking form or would like further details, please contact margaret.young@arocha.org.
