Battersea 350.org climate prayer and action
2 November 2009
On 24 October A Rocha Young Adults Coordinator Will Campbell-Clause and
friends from the environmental action group ‘Cactus’ organised a day of prayer
and workshops followed by a bike-powered disco in the evening! This was
organised to coincide with the thousands of other actions taking place globally
on this 350 International Day of Climate Action.
The workshops focussed on the theological basis for creation care and the
upcoming Copenhagen Summit. The attendees prayed boldly for more action from
Christians on climate issues and for a political breakthrough at the summit in
December.
The bike-powered disco provided well-earned fun while also pointing to a
future with greater concern for God’s creation in all we do.
