Environmental Education - an introduction to our workLocal Education
A Rocha Living Waterways has been developing environmental education amongst the people of Southall and Hayes, working mainly with children and young people.Our education team work with local families and schools providing:
We involve local volunteer leaders where possible and create resources to enable the local environment to be understood, appreciated, and used for cross-curricular studies. We have, in partnership with others, created a Floating Classroom on the Grand Union Canal. The 'Elsdale II' delivers environmental and heritage education to schools and colleges across West London. For more information click here All our education staff have received full clearance from the Criminal Records Bureau to work with children. A Rocha UK has recently begun to extend its range of environmental education activities to provide a national education programme.We are involved in a number of projects around the country and are developing a range of educational resources, many of which are free and can be downloaded from this website: see our National Education section. |
