Minet Country Park
Since it began in 2001, A Rocha Living Waterways has been instrumental in transforming Minet from a derelict and degraded area into a fully funded Country Park. Today, the 36 hectare site, situated between the A312 (Hayes by-pass) and the Uxbridge Road, provides an oasis for wildlife and a valuable green space in this heavily built-up area. Minet Country Park, owned and managed by the London Borough of Hillingdon, was opened to the public in 2003 and with its purpose-built cycle circuit, playground, picnic sites, grasslands, ponds and wildlife areas, has become a vital resource for the surrounding community. A Rocha Living Waterways uses Minet Country Park as a base for much of the local Education work, and continues to run public events there to raise awareness of A Rocha and to encourage wildlife monitoring. The Lodge (the visitor centre) includes a classroom, a small kitchen area and toilets, including disabled. There is a car park and a few picnic areas nearby. All pedestrian entrances have wheelchair and pushchair friendly kissing gates fitted with RADAR locks and cycle access. How to find us
