Our work
A Rocha UK is a movement of people - staff, volunteers and Friends; working
together for the good of God’s creation.
Our work across the UK includes practical conservation initiatives and
environmental education, both of which are at the heart of A Rocha’s mission. We
work with churches and individuals too, inspiring and equipping them, and
harnessing their enthusiasm as we care for God’s world together. We also offer a
consultancy service which provides quality conservation advice. In addition we
support the wider family of A Rocha projects present in 18 countries. Our head
office is in Southall, West London, and there are team members in many parts of
the UK.To find out more about any of these work areas, read on.
Practical Action
A Rocha UK managed projects
Our managed projects demonstrate creation-care in a practical way.
They provide an education service for local people and opportunities for
scientific study. Our first project was Living Waterways in Southall. Our second
was the Chiltern Gateway project in Oxfordshire.
Associated Projects
We also run an Associated Projects scheme, supporting other local initiatives
across the UK. These include projects at Steyning
in West Sussex, Dronfield in Derbyshire and
Sandbach in Cheshire. More details on these projects will be available here
soon.

Science and Conservation
Our science and conservation work is not all project-based. We also offer a
consultancy service and provide national science resources. More details will be
published here when available.
National Education
We have been working locally with primary school children for over 7 years.
To help equip others we have made Environment Club and assembly material
available online, click here.
We are currently piloting materials for GCSE Religious Education, which can
be used nationally as part of the 'Faith and the Environment' module. These will
be available for purchase in the middle of 2010. To find out more, click
here.
Helping churches
We offer resources and events to help the Christian Church in the UK
recapture God's original commission to care for creation. Read more about our
Partner Churches programme here.
