This is based around Bannerghatta National Park and focuses on human-elephant
conflicts in the farming communities. We also monitor birds, plants and
butterflies around the Rampura and Kalkere wetlands.

Wildlife trade investigation
We are working with the Wildlife Trust of India to investigate the illegal
trade in Indian Star Tortoises, as the trade is pushing the population ever

Environmental education
The Urban Schools Environment Education Program
(USEEP) enables city children to become responsible stewards of the earth.
Throughout the year, we also provide workshops and
conferences to engage the wider community in caring for the environment.

Our field study centre provides a convenient base for research into
human-elephant conflicts around Bannerghatta National Park as well as local

Watch the new A Rocha India film:
This film focuses on the plight of farmers living close to the Bannerghatta
National Park whose crops are often raided by Asian Elephants (Elephas
maximus).
