"Conservation initiatives have traditionally focused on species or ecosystems and emphasized biological diversity while Christian aid agencies have focused on human needs and totally neglected ecological concerns. The new paradigm within the conservation world seeks conservation and sustainable use with the human element factored into the equation. But what does the Word of God say? How does God’s love force us to abandon a fragmented approach? The fragility of particular environments and livelihoods in Africa limits intervention options. What biblical response can we bring to this situation?"
