The Rt Rev Dr D Zac Niringiye
Bishop Zac is
the Assistant Bishop in Kampala Diocese, with the Church of Uganda. He has had a
distinguished career as a theologian, mission leader, pastor, HIV/AIDS activist
and organizational development consultant. In 2007, when the A Rocha Leaders'
Forum met in Kenya, he taught the delegates each day on the theme of
Conservation, poverty and hope, and as both a scientist and theologian, he is
passionate about the need to protect Uganda's natural resources for the benefit
of people and wildlife. His first degree was in Physics from Makerere
University, Uganda. He received his Masters in Theology from Wheaton College,
Illinois and his PhD in Theology and Mission History from Edinburgh University.
For many years he had a ministry among students all over English and
Portuguese speaking Africa, and teaches widely at churches and conferences in
Africa, Europe and North America.
Bishop Zac is married to Theodora, an HIV/AIDS, trauma, marriage and family
counsellor and they have three children.
