Sarah French
Sarah
French is a consultant, academic and practitioner in the fields of
international development, sustainable livelihoods, biodiversity, conservation,
business and sustainability. Her work involves facilitating people-centred
sustainable development projects, involving partnerships to develop the skills,
attitudes and knowledge of individuals and institutions through education and
training, research and programme management. This work has involved extensive
travel in Europe, South America, Africa and Asia. Clients include: Countdown
2010, DFID, DGEF, Dutch Government, FAO, GAVI, GEI, the Government of Costa
Rica, ICTSD, IFC, ILO, The World Conservation
Union (IUCN), PROFOR, PROFOREST, Stockholm Convention, UNEP, UNV, UNITAR,
the World Bank and others.
She is a Board member of Earthmind, a
Swiss not-for-profit professional association promoting synergies for
sustainability and is an Associate Senior Lecturer and Consultant with the
Centre for International Development and Training, University of Wolverhampton,
UK. She is an active member of two IUCN Commissions: Commission on Education and
Communication and Commission for Ecosystem Management.
She has worked in Peru and Bolivia with Tear Fund. Sarah lives in Geneva
where her husband Mike is the Head of Office for Save the Children and UN
Representative.
