A Rocha Kenya Committee and TeamWhat are A Rocha Kenya's Aims?By working with the local communities, A Rocha Kenya aims to achieve the long-term conservation of threatened habitats and species in the Malindi-Watamu area. ARK was formally established in 1999, opened the Mwamba Bird Observatory and Field Study Centre in Watamu in 2002 and established a marine Conservation project in the Watamu Marine Park in 2011. How is A Rocha Kenya organised?A Rocha Kenya is a registered NGO governed by a National Committee. Led by Edwyn Kiptinness, the Committee members bring a wealth of expertise in areas as diverse as immunology and botany, and experience of work in several other conservation and Christian-based development agencies. A Rocha Kenya works in close collaboration with other organisations including the National Museums of Kenya, NatureKenya, Local Ocean Trust, Kenya Wildlife Service and the Kenya Forest Service.
