María de los Ángeles La Torre-Cuadros (Acting President)

Biologist, Master of Science in Forestry Resources Conservation (UNALM) and Doctor of Ecology and Sustainable Development (ECOSUR-Mexico). She is currently associate researcher for the Forestry Herbarium (MOL) of the Forestry Faculty of the National Agrarian University La Molina, Lima, as well as a visiting professor for its Masters programmes in Forestry Management and Applied Ecology and its Sustainable Agriculture Doctoral programme. She is scientific editor of the Zonas áridas journal (<www.lamolina.edu.pe/ciza|www.lamolina.edu.pe/ciza>) and consultant for monitoring the biodiversity and ethnobotany of mountain and lowland forests and selecting sites for implementing conservation strategies and designating as protected areas. Her research interests are focused on the management and conservation of tropical forests by developing an accurate understanding of the natural and social processes linked with these ecosystems. She has a particular interest in quantitative ethnobotany (Non-Timber Forest Product systems), traditional ecological knowledge.

Héctor Castillo Zavaleta (Treasurer)

Administrator. Specialist in Agrarian Statistics and Budgets, with experience in the Ministry of Agriculture and other institutions. He is a dynamic leader in his local church.

He works as a volunteer for “Corazones felices”, an NGO looking to improve the quality of life of the children in the community.

Amparo Herrera Inga (Secretary)

She is a biologist with 11 years experience in environmental education. She founded "Sendas Ecológicas e Históricas”, an environmental group of professional biologists and educators in which they use nature as an educational resource and foster correct conducts in students towards their surroundings,

She has been President of the Wild Fauna Brigade, a multidisciplinary group, which leads in training, creating awareness, communicating and promoting the message of the sustainable management of our natural resources,

She has worked for “Perú Verde” an institution which seeks to conserve Peru's wildlife and wildlands through field research, habitat protection, and eco-friendly economic alternatives for local communities.
