Words for Creation Project

Creation and words go together because God's words brought creation into being. Creation also speaks a language of its own, leaving us the delight or the pain of interpreting creation's message, through our own words. Our modern age of extinctions means that some words which God speaks through creation (Rom.1:20) and has spoken since before human memory, are rapidly falling silent. We can respond to this well by emulating Jesus: just by being silent ourselves before our Creator or again, like him, by speaking out words of delight, celebration, puzzlement, joy, anger, wonder, advocacy, sadness or loss, for the astounding world that God has created. This project invites you to share words you have written for creation by sending them to John Roff.

Here is John's personal invitation:  As an environmental educator my desire is that people’s heart attitudes towards the earth will change, and I believe that this change happens when the emotions are stirred. Poetry, along with many other arts has the power to stir emotions, and so to be a catalyst for change.

Words for creation is a simple project in which we invite you to share your ‘words for creation’, by sending them to me at wordsforcreation@arocha.org   I will put poems sent to me into a 'pool' from which I'll regularly draw to update the page with poems from all over the world and from  different time periods.

Click here  www.wordsforcreation.blogspot.com  to get to 'Words for Creation'. Enjoy the writing, share it widely and feel free to contribute. Your words may be the ones that help to soften hardened hearts and bring Godly change.
