KZN - Phila Endalweni - Schools and Wilderness ProgrammesOur Schools Field Worker and volunteers present clubs at local schools, as well as our three hour wilderness learning programme in the Bisley Valley Nature Reserve, providing a unique opportunity for children to learn about climate change in context, and to discover the wonder of the wilderness first hand. Environment ClubsA Rocha Clubs are run on a weekly basis in Pietermaritzburg schools. We work with primary school learners and establish a theme for each term. Our club activities are linked into the WESSA Eco-Schools Programme and include:

For more information regarding the clubs or the establishment of a new club, please contact us (noluvuyo.mshumpela@arocha.org) Wilderness Learning ProgrammeA Rocha’s Wilderness Learning Programme is a specialist outdoor environmental education service that enriches and extends the requirements of South Africa’s Revised National Curriculum Statement. We present our programme in the Bisley Valley Nature Reserve, one of Pietermaritzburg’s municipal protected areas. The programme is a three hour guided walk tailored to each group’s requirements.
