A Rocha Aotearoa New Zealand seeks to inspire, educate and enable communities to actively care for New Zealand’s unique environment.
In Whaingaroa/Raglan, A Rocha leads a community conservation project managing 2,000 hectares on a forested coastal mountain. Focused around intensive predator control, the project seeks to provide a safe habitat where seabirds can breed, thus restoring biodiversity to the forest.
Committed volunteers in other regions are involved in wetland, native bush and stream restoration, a native tree nursery and planting projects.
A Rocha Aotearora New Zealand also runs a number of innovative advocacy, leadership and educational programs and events with communities, churches and educational organizations.
